CID 4 – three

Posted in CID4 by joycelinwong on February 17, 2009

At long last we got down to generate ideas for our group project today.

Heh talked about a lot of random stuff and penned down all the various problems,
from fat and bulky umbrellas to squeezing glue bottles -.-

BUT,

We finally narrowed down to 2 ideas!

Woohooo hopefully either of them would lead to something good.

:D

lesson 2 – CID4

Mr Tan CY’s the mentor teacher for the open category! woohooo~

Didn’t do much today except for the Innovation Protocol thing where we learnt that we have to perceive everything we see in another manner.

My group did the problem on heavy bags, and we used mountains on snails to represent that.

Yeah really did nothing much today.

I think CID lessons are pretty much useless cos from my past 3 years experience,
they were always chatting and slacking sessions because we decided that we can only finish the project either at home or weekends.

Zzzz.

My group still doesn’t have an idea of what to do.

Anyone has any problems which you want us to solve? :D

CID4 (Proper) Lesson 1

Posted in CID4 by joycelinwong on January 20, 2009

CID4 (for readers who don’t know, it’s basically project work in RV)  is indeed interesting.

Not only do you get to choose from many categories (eg. Museum Guiding, Service Learning, various Science projects blah blah),

you are required to document your weekly lessons’ reflections in the form of blogging.

-.-

Okay never mind. It’s rather interesting anyway.

Though I don’t think many students will remember (unlike me) and do it diligently every week.

****

Whatever. I’m resisting every urge to crap and type irrelevant thing here cos Mr Choy and god knows who will be reading my blog.

(Ah yes I’m revealing my blog to the teachers, but I have nothing to hide anyway~)

****

By the way, I’m not in Service Learning cluster albeit my interest in joining in the first place.

I’m in IDEAS IN ACTION.

Basically it’s just coming up with this really innovative idea and bringing it to life.

Best thing about it is if your idea is selected (Note: SELECTED), you get $2500 funding by CitiBank to make whatever you want to make!

Alright anyway,

today was the first official lesson on CID4 we had I guess.

Met in LT1 to watch this 2 videos from Ted.com about generating ideas.

Pretty cool stuff.

Like a magic mirror in Prada.
You turn one round in front of the mirror and instantly it would capture your image of your back view and display it on the screen beside the mirror.

And there was this man called Jeff Han that created this useful touch screen thing and you can use all your fingers to create images/objects/enlarge whatever thing inside.

Looking at all those ideas made me really amazed.

LIKE DAMN, how come their brains can generate such great ideas and mine is blocked.

Zzzz.

My group seriously needs to come up with ideas real quick :/
